In Praise of Dr. Sundeen & his superior staff.

I write this for everyone considering laser periodontal surgery with Dr. Sundeen. This is a relatively new option at the practice due to his profound dedication to staying at the cutting edge of dental technology.

Initially, I didn't know what to expect. As I write this it has been a year since it was done. His technique with the laser was superb and not only was discomfort minimal, I healed in no time. I sleep better knowing that that the dental care I get and a changing lifestyle will give me a chance at an extended quality life. Since we now know that periodontal issues can cause cardio vascular problems, I consider his treatment truly "life saving". Ask anyone who has had a close call with heart and circulation. On Jan. 17th 2008, I was referred to Dr. David Sundeen, D.D.S. by Lewis Hanan, D. M. D. for the extraction of three teeth. At age 74, I was apprehensive about the prospect of such dental work. That same day, I went to Dr. Sundeen's office to make an appointment. I was impressed with the friendly manner of the office staff, which immediately put me at ease. When Dr. Sundeen introduced himself, he explained every aspect of the upcoming procedure. I didn't feel rushed, nor did I feel any questions I raised were unimportant.

The day of the extrations I was made comfortable by Dr. Sundeen and his assistant as they again told me what to expect. During the extractions, I didn't experience any pain, nor did I even feel uncomfortable. After the procedure, I was given detailed instructions on the proper care of my mouth for the next few days. It was explained to me as well as written out on a sheet for me to take home.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Sundeen and his staff. They are friendly, courteous and very professional. They made, what I anticipated to be a frightening experience, a most tolerable procedure. I am grateful to Dr. Hanan for the referral and would recommend Dr. Sundeen to anyone needing dental work.

Dr. Sundeen was my knight in shining armor. I had broken my tooth at a restaurant and was in a lot of pain over the weekend. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful Dr. Sundeen is. I've lived in Sarasota since the mid 60's and went to the same dentist for 30 years, until he retired. Since then I went searching for a new dentist. I went through about five different dentists and was not happy with any of them. Luckily, my search ended when I found Dr. Sundeen. I have been with him for several years now and he is the best. Dr. Sundeen, his assistants, hygienist and office staff are all so nice, friendly and calming. They greet me with " Hi Cheryl" when I walk through the door. No signing in, no waiting and I'm not just another number. His work is superb and no pain, even with the needle, which I'm petrified of. He is meticulous and I would highly recommend him to all.

After much discussion about mini implant surgery, I thought that I was comfortable in making the decision to proceed with it. That was however, until the morning of the surgery itself, at which time, I became very apprehensive, but went on with it anyway. A decision I trusted to past experiences with Dr. Sundeen which in the end proved to be a good one.

Now after about a month with the implants, I'm very happy with the work and the great follow-up that Dr. Sundeen has provided. I would highly recommend the procedure.

Word's can't express how I feel about Dr. Sundeen and all his office staff. The changes he made in my teeth, introducing me to Dr. Gondzala's for gum work and proper hygienic cleaning have opened a whole new world from which I never plan to return!! Eating doesn't hurt. Whoever said "It's NEVER too late" was absolutely correct.  I thought, at age 61, that it was too late to have the radiant smile I used to have.  WRONG!! Not only did Dr. Sundeen and his wonderful staff make that dream come true with a plan utilizing veneers & crowns, they got it accomplished in record time so I could look better for an upcoming cruise with thirty friends.  AND my smile is even BETTER than before.

When I was young I had beautiful straight teeth thanks to the orthodontists. Around age 36 I noticed that my teeth had moved and were totally crooked. I felt very self conscious about smiling and smiled with my mouth closed.

Then I met Dr. Sundeen who suggested Invisalign. I decided to give it a try. After 1 year which was not always pleasant, especially in the beginning, the results are wonderful!!
